Author of a well-known gloss on al-Kātī’s commentary on the Īsāghūjī, itself glossed by later scholars.
Life
The reference works consulted give little more than al-Bardaʿī’s name and death date. The Islamisation of Anatolia database calls him Muḥyī al-Dīn Muḥammad al-Bardaʿī and dates his death to 927/1521; a German manuscript catalogue gives 927, 928 or 929 (1520–23).
His gloss on al-Kātī’s opens with the words al-ḥamdu li-man ḥamduhu aḥsanu kulli l-maqūl (‘praise be to Him whose praise is the best of all that is said’), according to Ḥājjī Khalīfa, who lists it first among the glosses on al-Kātī. TDV names it, with Qaraja Aḥmad’s, among the glosses on al-Kātī.
