الكُبْرَى
al-Kubrā al-Sayyid al-Sharīf al-Jurjānī
The longer of al-Jurjānī's two Persian primers, read after the Ṣughrā and before al-Mirqāt. It starts from the mind and the senses, sets out what an assent depends on, treats signification and the kinds of expression at length, then the universals with the ranks of genera, the four kinds of definer, the parts and kinds of the proposition, conversion and contradiction, and the moods of the first three figures and the exceptive syllogism. Each part ends with questions to answer.
