الفَوَائِدُ الفَنَارِيَّةُ

al-Fawāʾid al-Fanāriyya

al-Fanārī · d. 834/1431

Shams al-Dīn al-Fanārī's commentary on al-Abharī's Īsāghūjī, which, he boasted, he wrote in a single day — and a short winter's day at that. It is among the most famous commentaries on the Īsāghūjī and was read in Ottoman madrasas until recent times. Its glosses include Qul Aḥmad's and Burhān al-Dīn al-Bulghārī's al-Fawāʾid al-Burhāniyya, and its preface was glossed separately. With al-Kātī's commentary it defined how Ottoman students met logic for the first time.
