شَرْحُ السُّلَّمِ المُرَوْنَقِ
Sharḥ al-Sullam
al-Akhḍarī · d. 983/1575–76 (also given as 953/1546)
The prose commentary that al-Akhḍarī wrote on his own rajaz poem al-Sullam al-munawraq; TDV notes that the first commentary on the Sullam was by the poet himself. It gives the author’s own reading of what his compressed verses mean. It is often printed together with later commentaries such as al-Damanhūrī’s Īḍāḥ al-mubham, and a modern critical edition appeared in an Algerian heritage series. For a student it is the natural first check on any disputed reading of the Sullam.
