حَاشِيَةُ البَاجُورِيِّ عَلَى مَتْنِ السُّلَّمِ

Ḥāshiyat al-Bājūrī ʿalā matn al-Sullam

al-Bājūrī · d. 1276/1860 (also given as 1277/1861)

A gloss written directly on the text of al-Akhḍarī’s Sullam by Ibrāhīm al-Bājūrī, Shaykh al-Azhar. Printings set the poem in the margin and add the taqrīr (teaching notes) of Muḥammad al-Anbābī (d. 1313/1896), a later Shaykh al-Azhar. Fanani and Widigdo, following van Bruinessen, list al-Bājūrī’s work on the Sullam among the logic books of Indonesian pesantren. Because it glosses the poem itself rather than a commentary, it can be read directly after the matn.
