عِلْمُ المَنْطِقِ لِلْمَدَارِسِ العَرَبِيَّةِ وَالمَعَاهِدِ الدِّينِيَّةِ بِإِنْدُونِيسِيَا

ʿIlm al-manṭiq

Muhammad Nur al-Ibrahimi

An Arabic textbook of logic written in 1927 for the Arabic madrasas and religious institutes of Indonesia. Fanani and Widigdo describe it as a practical source for teaching and learning logic in Arabic. It stands beside the inherited texts of the pesantren (the Īsāghūjī, the Sullam and its Egyptian commentaries) as an example of a locally written graded textbook. It is worth knowing for the history of logic teaching in Southeast Asia, which is otherwise known mostly through imported commentaries.
