شَرْحُ القُوَيْسِنِيِّ عَلَى السُّلَّمِ

Sharḥ al-Quwaysinī ʿalā al-Sullam

al-Quwaysinī · d. 1254/1838 (also given as 1255/1839)

A commentary on al-Akhḍarī’s Sullam by Ḥasan b. Darwīsh al-Quwaysinī, the Azhar scholar who became Shaykh al-Azhar. It is one of the Egyptian commentaries that remained in print into the twentieth century, published by the Cairo house of al-Bābī al-Ḥalabī. Van Bruinessen, as cited by Fanani and Widigdo, lists a work of al-Quwaysinī on the Sullam among the logic books of Indonesian pesantren. It is a middle-sized companion to the poem, between al-Damanhūrī’s brief Īḍāḥ and al-Ṣabbān’s full gloss.
