دُرَّةُ التَّاجِ
Durrat al-tāj
Quṭb al-Dīn al-Shīrāzī · d. 710/1311
A Persian encyclopaedia of philosophy and the sciences, completed in 705/1305, in five parts covering logic, philosophy, the natural sciences with geometry, astronomy, arithmetic and music, and the divine sciences. Its author, a student of al-Ṭūsī and a commentator on al-Suhrawardī, brought Avicennian philosophy back into discussion together with Sufi and religious questions. Its part on logic offers, beside al-Ṭūsī's Asās al-iqtibās, a Persian presentation of manṭiq from the Maragha circle.
