Muḥammad ʿAbd Allāh Gangohī

A short Urdu primer of logic by Muḥammad ʿAbd Allāh Gangohī, sold today as a logic text of the Dars-i Niẓāmī course. It sets out the basic terms in Urdu; a Pakistani publisher binds it in one volume with the Arabic Īsāghūjī and al-Mirqāt, the texts that follow it. An English version appeared in 2017. It shows how the traditional Arabic curriculum gained a vernacular first step in the modern period.
