أَسَاسُ الاقْتِبَاسِ

Asās al-iqtibās

Naṣīr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī · d. 672/1274

A large treatise on logic written in Persian by al-Ṭūsī, who, unlike al-Khūnajī and his followers, remained committed to Ibn Sīnā's logic. In the fifteenth century the Ottoman scholar Molla Khusraw translated it into Arabic, and that translation has been edited. It is the major Persian work on manṭiq of the period and a useful counterweight to the Arabic handbooks of the revisionist school.
