الجَوْهَرُ النَّضِيدُ فِي شَرْحِ مَنْطِقِ التَّجْرِيدِ

al-Jawhar al-naḍīd

al-ʿAllāma al-Ḥillī · d. 726/1325

Al-Ḥillī's commentary on al-Ṭūsī's Tajrīd al-manṭiq, quoting the text sentence by sentence in nine chapters from the universals to poetics. Here al-Ḥillī quietly adopted much of the logical doctrine of the Shamsiyya, which he had criticised in his earlier commentary on it. Printed only in the late nineteenth century, it then became the usual introduction to logic in Shīʿī seminaries and has a modern Persian translation.
